Be brave and flexible especially when you don’t feel like it
For most of us mere mortals when we feel tired, overwhelmed with life, tend to use this time to retreat within ourselves.
There is another choice – when we least feel like it – soldier on and be brave and be flexible. Of course this must also be within reason. For many women especially mothers and I would also add teachers and nurses and really anyone in a caring profession – we do tend to soldier on to the nth degree and then hit absolute exhaustion or burn out point.
As with everything in life there is a balance. Tao, Buddhism and even Christianity have all been referred to at different times as the way or the middle way. Live is and has always been about balance. The striving and rushing seems to get more prolific as time goes on especially with the upgrades in technology – however this is where I suggest we counter this with the word “no”. Yes, with the changes in technology we can do much more but I would argue should we.
Being brave is difficult at the best of times and particularly when we are buckling under burdens whether it be with a certain daily workload or ongoing pressures of life such as a newly single mother or father. As with everything in every moment – we always have a choice and even not choosing is a choice.
- Choose to be brave. Choose to cope. Choose to not just survive but thrive.
- Commit to the decision.
- Strategise how to execute the decision. This could include researching different techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or pray or meditation or yoga. Choose to find some time each day for quiet and solitude. Perhaps wake up just fifteen or thirty minutes earlier on weekdays.
- Go and do it!
- Additionally journal your progess for motivation.
Our wonderful creator set before us death and life – I say choose life!!!
